The ski area of Les Deux Alpes rises from the resort height of 1650m to Europe’s largest skiable glacier at 3600m. The resort boasts 137 miles of pisted runs, of which approximately 60% are Green and Blue. For more experienced skiers and snowboarders, there are challenging Reds and Blacks and extensive off-piste areas to explore. Don’t hesitate to ask our staff to advise you on where to get started.
We also have a world-class Snowpark where you can hit kickers, rails and a half-pipe designed for beginners and professionals. Whether this is your first time on snow or you’re looking to improve your technique, why not book lessons with English speaking instructors at the European Ski & Snowboard School.
Les Deux Alpes is within easy distance of the ski resorts of La Grave, Alpe d’Huez and Serre Chevalier, which can be visited using your 6-day lift pass. The unprepared snow of La Grave, accessible via the Les 2 Alpes lift system, is ranked as one of the world’s most exciting off-piste areas.
For those who don’t wish to spend all day on the mountain – or who simply fancy a day-off – Les Deux Alpes has plenty of activities to keep you busy. The town has an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice rink, bowling alley and snow-shoe paths. You can visit the Ice Caves (carved into the glacier), take a helicopter trip to Alpe d’Huez, or visit the traditional village of Venosc. Tucked into the valley, this is home to local artists who display their work in the many craft and produce shops in the village, and is the place to stock-up on hand-made gifts and local delicacies.
After dark, Les Deux Alpes is just as lively with a vast range of restaurants and bars to fill your evenings. Favourites with British staff and visitors alike are Smokey Joes for steaks, burgers and pizzas, and TriBeCa for an authentic Italian feel. The resort’s bars serve up the party to a truly international clientele, with French, British and Scandinavian visitors mingling late into the night. With most bars open until 2am and the nightclubs usually closing nearer to 4am, there’s plenty to tempt you away from the slopes!
